Last season, he was the star man at Celtic. But Tom Rogic’s form has taken a major dip so far this season.

We take a look at potential reasons for his decline this season.

World Cup blues?

Towards the end of last season, Rogic was playing for his space in the World Cup.

The Australia international was performing week-in, week-out, knowing that his games were being watched by the national selectors.

The Socceroos suffered a group stage exit and now Rogic does not have the same motivation.

Has that been a contributing factor in affecting his Celtic form?

Contract distraction?

Another theory about his lack of form could be about his new contract.

The 25-year-old committed his long-term future to Celtic, despite interest from elsewhere, and many fans saw this as a good thing.

But has that had a negative side-effect of lowering his motivation.

He doesn’t seem like the type of personality to be influenced by earning a bigger salary but there is a possibility that it has distracted him.

Rogic has security at Celtic and he might be getting a bit too comfortable with his situation.

Can he turn things around?

All players are going to go through good and bad stages in their career.

Rogic’s dip in form has been surprising because of his usual consistency. But does he have the mentality to bounce back?

Maybe being dropped for Ryan Christie might do the midfield man some good.

He will be determined to win his place back in the line-up with healthy competition in the number 10 role.

Although his early season form is worrying, Rogic is probably going to come back stronger and when he does, Celtic will shoot right back up the league table.
