Manager Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team vs Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, per the official club website.
The full match squad is as follows:
Starting XI – Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Juranovic, McCarthy, McGregor, Abada, Turnbull, Jota, Kyogo.
Substitutes – Bain, Scales, Ajeti, Soro, Johnston, Forrest, Montgomery.
With ground still to be made up in the league table, a crucial three points are on the line today that Celtic simply must win.
Form has been good over the last two months, but Postecoglou’s side will be looking to bounce back from an energy-sapping defeat against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night.
The headline team news is that Tom Rogic hasn’t won his battle with fitness to feature today with James McCarthy coming into the team for Nir Bitton. It’s McCarthy’s first start since the 1-1 draw against Dundee United in September.
Elsewhere it’s a familiar look to the team with the attacking trio of Jota, Kyogo and Liel Abada all starting.
Broadcast details
Today’s match is on the Pass To Paradise service for season ticket holders who are not able to attend Celtic Park.
Celtic TV will also be broadcasting the fixture for subscribers outside of the UK & Ireland.
There is also a pay-per-view service for supporters on these shores, which will cost you £12.99 via this link.
The fixture will not be broadcast on Sky Sports, but BBC Radio Scotland will be providing audio commentary across their platforms.
Fan reaction to Celtic team vs Aberdeen
There’s a bit of concern about the make-up of the Celtic midfield today with the absences of Bitton and Rogic worrying supporters.
However, it is a big opportunity for McCarthy and hopefully this is the start of him showing what he can really do in a Celtic shirt.
Elsewhere the team is strong enough to take the game to Aberdeen today and pick up all three points.
These fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
Never thought I’d say this but Bitton will be a huge loss today https://t.co/KVClQWqNtN

How strange. I spoke with a friend this morning about McCartgy needing a run of games to prove his worth. He starts today! 🍀 #CelticFc #CELABE #SPFL https://t.co/9xkPDDRVNk

Massive chance for McCarthy here, need a BIG performance here because he’s been really poor since he’s come in https://t.co/37foV9PJSA

Big game for McCarthy. If he can perform well here then hopefully things will start to improve for him in a Celtic jersey. https://t.co/yvXoh1KQJM

Our squad is poor, this is the only thing that will stop us winning the league, invest in January and run rampant 👍 https://t.co/8BCiQbsvGb

Regular viewers of ACSOM will know that I still genuinely believe James McCarthy will be an important player for us this season.
