One of the most intriguing aspects of Celtic’s upcoming league clash against Hearts is the team that will be selected by interim manager Neil Lennon.

The Hoops boss has to weigh up the upcoming Scottish Cup Final and some injury problems when picking the side. Therefore, it should come as no shock that some unfamiliar faces could be involved in the game.

Lennon has disclosed to the Scotsman that highly-rated youngster Karamoko Dembele could feature against the Tynecastle side. He is training with the first-team squad this week.

It would be best for all concerned if Dembele was limited to a cameo appearance in the game. It could liven up what could be a rather dull game.

Ease the pressure on the player

Taking it slowly is the best way to develop Dembele. It will ease the pressure on the player, and lower fans’ expectations.

Neil Lennon and all at Celtic will understand that. That is why fans should not expect miracles from the player. It will do him far him good in the long run to be eased into the side.

If Dembele does well against Hearts, he could feature in the pre-season schedule that the Hoops side. That could be the next stage in his development as a player.

For now though, the best thing to do is slowly introduce Dembele to the first-team.
