Odsonne Edouard has scored six goals in ten matches for Celtic so far this season, but surely even the most optimistic of supporters will be worried about performances lately?
The Frenchman was again off the boil away to St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership today, along with almost all of his teammates.
He was eventually hauled off by the manager early in the second half of the 2-0 win.

This isn’t to say he deserves to be slated or unjustly criticised. There’s too much of that going about these days. Overreaction is never helpful.
No-one can deny that the 22-year-old is a superb talent who will be a massive part of our plans this season if he stays beyond the transfer deadline.

However, we simply need him back at his best.

The truth is it’s probably a bit of both.
With the Rangers game looming on the horizon, we can’t afford him to have another off day following the international break.
The manager is absolutely adamant that he’s not leaving before the transfer deadline but, if I’m honest, he does look like a distracted figure in that lineup right now.

Is the window itself taking its toll on the talent?
Does the manager need to play a proper, defence stretching striker alongside him?
Fans have taken to Twitter today to share their thoughts, summing up a general feeling of anxiety about the player right now…
Edouard’s performance today is very concerning.

Edouard can have no complaints. Been off it for weeks. Needs to get his finger out.

Edouard is probably my favourite player at the moment but I think he wants to go and Celtic have told him and his agent no and he’s went in a huff.

Taking Edouard off is fair. Ballsy. But fair. Even by his own relaxed standards he’s not looked into it the last couple of games. #STJCEL

Edouard doesn’t look interested at all. With one day left can’t see him leaving but it’s clear he doesn’t have the same motivation as it looked like he once did. Or is it down to no service
