Kyogo Furuhashi had a difficult afternoon in today’s Celtic match against Aberdeen, but that hasn’t dampened his feeling of joy at returning to the pitch and picking up a big Scottish Premiership win.

Kyogo had a number of gilt-edged chances in the Dons box to put the Bhoys ahead before being substituted for Giorgos Giakoumakis in the second half. It just wasn’t his day on a personal level. But being the type of character he is, he’s jubilant tonight regardless.

Posting on Instagram, he told Celtic supporters: “So happy to be back on the pitch again and about 3 well-deserved points! 🤩 Thanks for the awesome away support 🙆🏼‍♂️”

Kyogo remains Celtic’s top scorer this season with 11 goals in all competitions. So we have to hope not having his shooting boots on today was simply a reflection of lacking match sharpness after a month off.

We know Ange Postecoglou favours the Japanese star over other options but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Giakoumakis come in for the forward if there’s a sign these misses extend beyond one game.

Celtic, of course, win and lose as a team. But we need our attacking talents to stick away the chances created when opponents are sitting so defensively.

It was a trademark of this season in Europe and we can’t let it become a trend domestically.

Upcoming matches against Livingston and St Johnstone will follow similar patterns to what we witnessed today at Pittodrie.

If we can find that ruthless edge in the box, however, there could be no stopping Celtic regardless of how our visitors set-up.

In other news, Pat Bonner spots telling Joe Hart reaction at Pittodrie that summed up Celtic’s big Saturday.
