Celtic have received some worrying injury news ahead of the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts. The Daily Record has revealed that Odsonne Edouard is a doubt for the cup final after he picked up an ankle injury in the recent defeat to Rangers.
Should Edouard miss the game it would be a big blow for the Hoops. He has been one of the key men for the club this season, scoring 21 goals as the Hoops stand on the verge of another domestic treble.
Big decision ahead
If Edouard misses the cup final, Neil Lennon will have a big decision to make as to who replaces the player. There are two unexpected names who could be under consideration – Mikey Johnston, and Oliver Burke.
Both players have played up-front this season, and have scored goals. Of course, they are not natural strikers. But Burke’s pace in particular could mean he starts up-front.
Improve on finishing
He would have to improve on his finishing though, which let him down in the recent loss to Rangers.
It would not be the ideal solution should either Burke or Johnston start the game as the main striker. But that could be what the Hoops need to do.
Thankfully, the team have plenty of attacking midfielders who could give support to the striker. But it would still be not the best scenario for the club.
All at Celtic will be desperate for Edouard to make the game.
