Ange Postecoglou's latest statement of intent should excite Celtic supporters
Ange Postecoglou has reiterated his intent to build something special at Celtic, telling reporters he’s only scratched the surface of what he can do in Glasgow.
Very few people in Scotland knew who Postecoglou was this time last year, yet he’s now on the verge of securing a famous Premiership title.
If you listen to what the Celtic manager has to say, it’s only the beginning too. He has big ambitions at the Bhoys beyond what we’ve witnessed this season.
Speaking to The Times this weekend, the Celtic boss said: “I love new challenges, I love going to different countries and experiencing different cultures and working with different types of players. I really enjoy that.
“I probably don’t coach my best if I get comfortable. I love that little bit of the unknown, it tends to bring out the best of me.
“That will always be in me: where’s the next leap I can make? I haven’t had too many stumbles along the way.
“If I have a major stumble at some point, it may realign my vision of what the next step is, but I’m enjoying it at the moment and at this club I’ve just scratched the surface. It’s the first year of trying to build something that will be special.”
If what Ange has done over the last year is only scratching the surface then we could have an even better period ahead.
Boosted by Champions League cash and players naturally improving as a group heading into a second season, there’s no reason to think Postecoglou isn’t right either.
Celtic haven’t reached this level only to stand still. Not under this manager. He’ll be pushing for the very best and I’m incredibly excited to see it all unfold.
