Previously on this website we have covered the idea of concept kit designs on Twitter. For the uninitiated, this is when designers have a go at predicting what a Celtic kit of the future would look like.

The previous kit concept, designed by Twitter user SETTPACE, was certainly very popular with the fans, and gathered plenty of comments on Twitter.

Now, the new concept design kit that was unveiled yesterday by Twitter user Saintetixx isn’t proving as popular.

Now it does at the time of writing have 90 likes, which is a decent number. However, one of the few replies to the design perhaps expresses why the design isn’t as popular as some previous kit designs.

Yes, it is the old issue of the broken Hoops on the strip again. Now, on the face of it, this seems like a frivolous complaint. Celtic are having a poor season. The world is in the grip of a pandemic, and it’s only a football strip, right?

Broken Hoops won’t be repeated

Well, yes, but people weren’t happy back in the early 2000s when Celtic introduced the broken Hoops on the strips for the first time. If that happened again on the back of this season, then the complaints would be numerous.

The success of the Adidas strips this season is one of the few things that have gone well for Celtic this season. They won’t want to mess with that. That is why such a kit design would never happen in reality.

The way things at going at Celtic at the moment, ideas about potential new strips are one of the few things worth discussing.

Naturally once a new manager and new signings are in place then things at Celtic will hopefully return to the way they have been for years. With Celtic top of the league, and crowned champions once more.

In other news, Albian Ajeti’s appeal for his two match ban has been delayed by 24 hours.
