Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers claims to be pleased with the transfer business done in January.

“The transfer window has been very good, we’ve brought in players in key areas that we wanted to” he disclosed to the official Celtic website.

That all sounds good to the Celtic support.

But there must be a slight doubt about the manager’s future.

Especially when you consider that so many of the players brought in were on short-term deals.

Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Jeremy Toljan are all set to move on at the end of the season.

The same is true of Filip Benkovic.

There are also a host of players out of contract at the end of the season.

Does the Celtic boss really want to face a huge rebuilding job in the summer?

Only time will tell.

On the plus side, the recent arrivals Maryan Shved and Vakoun Issouf Bayo have signed long-term deals with the club.

Scott Brown has also signed a new two year deal.

Perhaps the Brown deal gives a clue to Rodgers’ future at Celtic Park.

Both men’s contracts run out in two years time – when Celtic will be hoping to have clinched ’10 in a row’.

Rodgers signed a four year deal at Celtic during his first season at the club.

Since then performances haven’t always been great.

But trophies have still been won.

If Rodgers does leave Celtic, fans would much rather he left after winning ’10 in a row’ than in the summer.
