Burns won countless trophies as a player in his time at Celtic Park. He wasn’t as successful as manager, but he did end Celtic’s six-year trophy drought with a Scottish Cup win in 1995.
He later returned to the club as head of youth development, and worked with former managers Martin O’Neill and Gordon Strachan.
A key man at Celtic
Burns was a key part of the infrastructure at Celtic up until his untimely death.
All at Celtic will be delighted to see that Tommy Burns remains a firm favourite of the Hoops support. Indeed, he was a Celtic fanatic growing up, and it was his dream come true to play for the Hoops.
He will remain a Celtic hero forever.
