Celtic fans don’t usually agree with decisions made by the Scottish Football Association. But they will be pleased with the ticket allocation the Hoops will reportedly receive for the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The Evening Times reveals that the Hoops could receive up to 30,000 tickets for next month’s game against Aberdeen at Hampden Park.
Hoops fans will outnumber opponents
That will mean the Hoops fans will outnumber their Aberdeen rivals by almost two to one on the day of the game. The decision is the correct one by the SFA.
There is no guarantee Aberdeen would have sold their allocation of tickets if the tickets have been split 50/50. The demand is there from Celtic fans and the club deserves the majority of tickets.
If the teams were meeting in the Scottish Cup final, there would be no issue with a 50/50 split. But this is the semi-final. The normal rules don’t have to apply.
A huge boost
It will be a huge boost for the Hoops players to see the majority of Hampden Park filled with Hoops fans. Of course, the fans can’t affect how the team performs on the day. But they can provide a boost to the players by fervently backing the team.
That will certainly be the case in April. The Hoops will aim to reach their third Scottish Cup final in a row, and the fans will be fully behind them.
