Former Celtic flop Amido Balde isn’t wanted by fans at his new club Persebaya Surabaya.

The Indonesian side’s supporters have started a #BaldeOut campaign on social media.

Despite scoring four goals on his debut, the ex-Hoops man is finding it hard going in Asia.

However, manager Djadjang Nurdjaman is still backing the former Portuguese youth forward.

Amido Balde still developing says new manager

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

His manager has jumped to his defence despite his form this season.

He told the Daily Record: “I hope not to panic. I feel bad about defending Balde.

“But let’s think positively, he’s still new and also needs time,

“He has tried to show the best, we see the opponent is also difficult to guard him.

“There are still many things that need to be addressed such as his physical and emotional development.”

The four goals on his debut are his last he has under the green of Surabaya but has also assisted twice.

His contract ends in December this year and if his form doesn’t pick up he could leave.

The striker is becoming a bit of a journeyman forward and the striker appears to still keep ties with his Celtic spell.

Amido Balde made quite the entrance

Balde arrived at Celtic having won the Portuguese FA Cup with Vitoria Guimares, nothing to be sniffed at.

The Guinea-Bissau striker became quite the cult hero playing with The Bhoys between 2013 and 2015.

He was rarely seen on the pitch and whenever he was subbed on fans would make noise in anticipation and go crazy like the team had scored a goal when he came on.

Unlike some proper stars, Balde even got his own chant but its words are too Glaswegian in nature for this page.

When he joined Surabaya, the club put out a video which did the rounds showing his hoops highlights.

Unfortunately, Balde isn’t living up to early expectations leading to calls for him to leave.

Sometimes things don’t work out and Balde should keep his head up and move on.

It’s never easy when the fans are turning on you, barring a miracle it’s just going to continue.
