Celtic icon Henrik Larsson might yet be making a return to football management at League One side Southend.

The English side’s chairman, Ron Martin, has revealed that he is set to have further talks with the Hoops legend after he was spotted at Southend’s recent game against MK Dons.

“Having Henrik Larsson join us on Saturday was simply part of the continuing interview process” he said, as reported by The Sun.

“I have a number of people to see this week and shall also be talking further with Henrik. Whilst it is possible I am, nevertheless, doubtful a decision will be made, and implemented, by the weekend.”

There is no doubt that the Hoops legend seems to be keen on a return to management after recently leaving Helsingborgs.

However, the job at Southend would not be an easy one to take. They are currently in 21st place in League One, which is in the relegation zone.

It would be the sharp end of English football. Larsson must be eager to take the job though, which is why he attended Southend’s most recent game.

It is unlikely that Larsson will ever become Celtic manager. He has not done enough in his management career to get the job in the futue. However, reports in the summer claimed that Neil Lennon wanted Larsson to return to Celtic as a coach.

That hasn’t happened yet, but it may happen sometime in the future. At the moment though, it seems that Larsson could be making his return to management at Southend.
