Former Celtic manager Martin O’Neill will kick off the club’s celebrations on Saturday by leading the current staff and players up The Celtic Way with the Scottish Premiership trophy.

O’Neill, who found great success in his own right as boss of the Bhoys, will address supporters at 10:40am, before a procession towards the stadium surrounded by thousands of fans.

The Celtic great won three league titles, three Scottish Cups and one League Cup during his time as a manager in Glasgow, so it’s incredibly fitting he’d help recognise the club’s latest achievement under Ange Postecoglou.

Tomorrow’s match against Aberdeen starts at 12:30pm and is already a sell-out. Tens of thousands will pack out the stadium to celebrate the league title win.

With a full stadium tifo also planned by The Green Brigade, it’s sure to be a special afternoon of spectacle and joy.

There will also be a hope the team can get back to winning ways after taking their foot off the gas in the wake of securing the championship. Ange’s Bhoys have gone three games in succession without a victory which is incredibly rare form for this group.

Picking up all three points and kickstarting a day of celebrations, which are likely to spill into the streets of Glasgow, will be the perfect way to build up to the Scottish Cup final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle next weekend.

That match could deliver a treble, the first of Postecoglou’s reign and just the eighth in the club’s entire history. Of course, one of them was secured by O’Neill, so hopefully his status as mascot tomorrow bodes well for a famous couple of weeks.

In other news, The half-time pep talk from Ange that ignited Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate’s ‘fighting spirit’.
