Leigh Griffiths has followed up Saturday’s superb gesture at Celtic Park with a social media plea this morning.
The striker returned to Celtic action during the 4-0 win over Livingston and after the game gave his Hoops jersey to one young fan supporting his team in the stands.
The picture on the youngster’s face was priceless, clearly in awe of the gift from the Scotland international. You can see the photo below via Griffiths’ Instagram (third picture in post).
You may also notice another Celtic kid looking on with disappointment that there’s no such gift for him!
As you can see from Griffiths’ comment underneath the photos, he’s now looking to get in touch with the wee man’s family, presumably, so he can go the extra mile and provide him with a Celtic jersey too.
It’s proof again that he has a brilliant relationship with the Celtic support, thousands of whom liked his posts, with hundreds of others leaving comments.
It was fantastic to see the striker back on the pitch yesterday after a long absence due to injury and fitness issues. He’s had to work hard to make it back into Neil Lennon’s plans but now looks ready to play an important part over the next five weeks.
We have a busy schedule on our hands and having him as an option to provide rest or relief for Odsonne Edouard, allowing us to keep the Frenchman fresh for bigger matches, could be huge.
With Vakoun Bayo also struggling with injuries, it’s not a luxury that Lennon has had too often of late.
