Celtic are teasing the new Adidas home kit on Twitter this afternoon, appearing to confirm the previously leaked merchandise.

In a short and simple tweet, the club also offered a bit of “it’s coming home” patter after all the excitement of the Euros and England’s disappointment.

It’s unclear at the moment when the full unveil will be, nor when it will go on sale.

We should see the new threads in action at some point over the next days with matches against Bristol City, Preston North End and FC Midtjylland ahead.

I like the new kit, which is very similar to the 2015/16 home top released by New Balance during the Ronny Deila era. There’s also nice detailing inside the collar that says, “Our city. Our colours.”

Celtic have already officially unveiled the away and third kits.

No doubt sales will be high again, with the club offering a £50 merchandise voucher to those renewing season tickets from last year.

The Adidas relationship has been a lucrative one for the club and German sportswear manufacturer. Last season’s kits and training wear flew off the shelves into the hands of supporters.

However, whether fans are willing to dig deep into their pockets in an environment of ill-preparedness for the new season remains to be seen.
