The trio of Odsonne Edouard, Jonny Hayes and Mikael Lustig all have tight hamstrings. Lennon has disclosed that the club won’t be taking any chances with the trio ahead of next week’s Scottish Cup Final.

“Odsonne, Jonny and Lustig all have tight hamstrings, which is a thing here at the moment” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“We won’t be taking any chances with them. They will be back in training at the start of the week.”

The trio won’t play in the upcoming final league game of the season against Hearts. That is understandable, as getting the players fit for the cup final is far more important.

Club could investigate injury issue

Perhaps the club need to investigate why the players all have the same injury though. It is rather alarming that at the most important time of the season, so many players are injured.

That is for the future though. At the moment it is all about getting the players fit for the cup final. Of the trio, the loss of Edouard would be the biggest blow. It would leave the Hoops without a recognised striker for the cup final.

All at Celtic Park will be hoping that he shakes off this injury in time for the Hampden showdown.
