Celtic will have to make a decision on Jonny Hayes in the not too distant future. The 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and could sign a deal with a new club as early as next January.

The winger played a big part in the closing quarter of the season as Celtic secured the league and Scottish Cup to complete another treble. Hayes started both derbies against Rangers and the two cup matches at Hampden.
He filled in at left-back on numerous occasions as well as playing in his more favoured position further up the pitch. Neil Lennon clearly likes him but will he back that up by offering him a new contract?

Giving his all
Hayes’ quality can perhaps by called into question on occasion but his desire can’t. The former Aberdeen man works about as hard as anyone else in the Celtic team and often gets his reward.

He’s unlikely to be a first-team regular as we chase down ten-in-a-row but he would be good to have around. Hayes has won six trophies in two years at the club so he had experience of getting over the line.
That alone could be enough to deem him worthy of a new deal when the time comes.
