Celtic's Odsonne Edouard makes statement after return from injury
Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard has taken to social media after his unexpected return from injury.
Edouard, who has been struggling with a thigh injury, played the last 20 minutes of France under-21’s 2-0 win over Georgia on Friday night.
Earlier report claimed he would miss game
His return to action was particularly unexpected as before the game the Daily Record reported that the player had been kept out of intensive training with his team-mates and that he was going to miss the game against Georgia.
Still, he must have improved his fitness rapidly in the time before the game. He scored the goal from the penalty that clinched the game, then delivered a five-word statement on Twitter.
“Focus on the next one” was Edouard’s verdict after the game.

Presumably that means France under-21’s game against Azerbaijan on Monday, and not Celtic’s trip to Dingwall next Saturday.
One wonders what Neil Lennon made of Edouard’s appearance for France. You imagine that he would have been kept in the loop about it.
However, it was a bit of a gamble by France involving Edouard in the game only five days after injury forced him to miss Celtic’s game against Motherwell.
Manager’s gamble pays off
France under-21 manager Sylvain Ripoli must have thought it was a gamble worth taking though. Indeed, he has probably been proven right after Edouard scored.
Now all eyes at Celtic Park will be on the side Ripoli selects for the game against Azerbaijan. It would be best for the Hoops if Edouard was left out of the side completely.
However, judging by Edouard’s comments that seems highly unlikely. Indeed, it seems likely that he will feature at some stage of the game.
It remains to be seen if Edouard starts, or is left on the bench as he continues his recovery from injury. Of those two options, there is no doubting the one Celtic would choose.
