Celtic stars Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Josip Juranovic have all found out their World Cup 2022 fate this evening.

All four players have qualified for the tournament in Qatar with Japan and Croatia respectively.

Meanwhile, players such as Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic were also in the draw with Scotland and Australia – though they still have massive play-offs to navigate this summer.

If Scotland make it past Ukraine and Wales they’ll go straight into a group that involves England, USA and Iran.

Juranovic can look forward to big matches against Belgium, Morocco and Canada in Group F of the tournament.

Meanwhile, our Japanese trio have a very tough Group E that also involves Spain, Germany and the winners of Costa Rica or New Zealand.

Denmark – who Matt O’Riley has an outside chance of representing – will face off against France, Tunisia and the intercontinental play-off winners which will be Peru, UAE or Tom Rogic’s Australia.

It’s a very intriguing draw that sets up all sorts of rivalries and massive matches in November and December.

For our Bhoys, it’s a chance to test themselves on the biggest stage possible in football and an exciting target to work towards throughout 2022.

The tournament coming mid-season isn’t ideal for Celtic and certainly makes next term a strange one, but I’m looking forward to some of these matches!

In other news, Van Bronckhorst rocked by “long-term” problem ahead of Celtic clash; could impact semi-final.
