Former Celtic boss Davie Hay has made a bold prediction about the outcome of Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

Hay thinks that the quality that the Hoops have in the side will see them prevail, but he expects it to be a tough game for Neil Lennon’s side.

“While I am confident that if Celtic turn up against Aberdeen at Hampden on Sunday they will ultimately prevail, it would be disrespectful to Derek McInnes and Aberdeen to suggest that it won’t be a hard match” Hay told the Evening Times, before making his prediction for the game.

“Their individuals being enough”

“I just see the extra quality that Celtic possess in terms of their individuals being enough to get the win.”

Hay’s comments would seem to echo the feeling of most Celtic supporters.

A tough game ahead

There is no doubt that it will be a tough game. Celtic aren’t in the best of form at the moment. Whilst Aberdeen have shown they can already win in Glasgow this season.

However, as Hay says, the quality the Hoops possess should make all the difference. The likes of Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest have that bit of extra that Aberdeen don’t possess.

They are real difference-makers, the sort of players that Aberdeen don’t have in their squad. That is why Hay is correct in his prediction. It could be a struggle, but don’t be surprised if an Edouard winner puts the Hoops into the final.
