Celtic fans will be delighted to hear that Odsonne Edouard is back in training ahead of a big week for the club.

The Frenchman signed for PSG in the summer in a permanent deal, and made a storming start at the club. This resulted in the 20-year-old notching three goals in his first games this season.

An injury to his hamstring set him back for a couple of weeks. However, his return is timely given the huge matches against Suduva and Rangers to come before the week is out.

And Edouard confirmed his return to training in the Twitter post below:

Edouard gives Brendan Rodgers options heading into two must-win clashes this week.

After watching the experiment between Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths flop against Hamilton, Edouard offers something different. The former PSG man has hit it off with Dembele in the past, and that combination could be the way forward.

Griffiths’ woes

Griffiths deserved an opportunity to build on a decent performance against Partick Thistle two weeks ago. However, the former Hibernian forward failed to impress against Accies, and looked sluggish.

Celtic still haven’t confirmed Edouard’s availability for the Suduva and Rangers clashes, despite his return to training.

The towering striker shot himself to Celtic fame with a stunning winner at Ibrox back in March. He then followed that up with a deadly double against Rangers at Celtic Park, on the day when Celtic won the title last season.

His availability would be extremely welcome given his previous history against the Ibrox side. However, both Dembele and Griffiths also have previous scoring records against Rangers.

Griffiths has nabbed two goals at Ibrox, whilst his first against the Govan side came at Hampden back in 2015.

Dembele, on the other hand, shot himself to fame with a derby-day hat-trick in September 2016. He has seven derby goals to his name so far.
