Former Celtic Head of Sports Science Gregory Dupont has bagged himself an impressive new job at Real Madrid.

The Frenchman, who worked in Glasgow between 2007 and 2009, has joined up with his compatriot Zinedine Zidane at the Spanish giants as their new Head of Fitness.

Since leaving Celtic, Dupont has also enjoyed spells with Lille and the French national team.

Marca reported the news, saying that Dupont was recommended after his work made France one of the fittest sides in international football.

Gregory Dupont is just one of many at Celtic

Dupont’s move does just go to show that Celtic do employ a high calibre of staff. The club may lag behind teams in major leagues on the player front but the backroom setup remains top-class.

The club have some of the finest physios, analysts and coaches in place at the moment and that has been reflected in our recent success.

The players will get most of the credit because that’s the way football works. However, Celtic’s backroom team including the likes of Stevie Woods and Tim Williamson deserve huge praise for making things as easy for the players as possible.

It would be no surprise to see some members of the current backroom team go on to even bigger and better things in the future. Just like Dupont has.
