Former Celtic right-back Saidy Janko will be playing his football in his homeland this coming season after he agreed to join BSC Young Boys.
The 23-year-old, who played for the Hoops between 2015 and 2017, is being sent out on loan from parent club Porto. The Swiss defender recently returned from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
Janko confirmed the deal on his Instagram account.
Janko could make Celtic Park return
His new side Young Boys are potential opponents for Celtic later on in Champions qualification. The Swiss champions enter the tournament at the Playoff stage and are likely to be one of four opponents we can face if we make it that far.
It would be quite fitting if Celtic and Janko met again in the Playoff round. The defender had one of the worst solo displays ever seen when we narrowly crept over the line in Be’er Sheva in 2016.
Janko gave away a penalty and was also at fault for one of the Israeli side’s goals in the 2-0 defeat.
He wasn’t the worst defender ever to play for the club but that one performance will send shivers down the spines of most Hoops fans. Janko was rarely seen following that game and joined Saint-Etienne soon after.
