Celtic have submitted their squad list for UEFA for the upcoming Europa League clash against Valencia.

Perhaps the biggest story to come out of the list is that Leigh Griffiths is included.

Griffiths hasn’t played for Celtic since making a substitute appearance in the 5-1 win over Kilmarnock in December.

Not long after that game Brendan Rodgers revealed to the BBC that the player had been granted leave of absence from the club to deal with off-field issues.

However, just two months later it looks like the player could be on the verge of making a return to the game.

Griffiths’ return would be a huge boost for Celtic.

The club are in the middle of an injury crisis at the moment.

Both Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest set to miss games.

Griffiths would immediately provide a goal threat that the club currently is without.

It would be a huge boost to Griffiths himself if he managed to return against Valencia.

It would show that the player is once more in the frame of mind to take to the pitch, which is what everyone at Celtic wants.

The Hoops have two games before the Valencia match.

It will be interesting to see if Griffiths makes the squad for either game.

For now though, it is certainly a promising sign for both the player and the club that he has made the Europa League squad.
