Read MoreThe list of players who have departed Celtic this summer
Celtic’s matchday squad for the first game of next season may bare little resemblance to the one that featured in last month’s Scottish Cup final.
The Celtic team that clinched the treble treble in dramatic fashion at Hampden on May 25th was widely thought to be on its last legs. The nucleus of the side will remain the same but a number of the players will move on. Let’s take a look at some of the confirmed departures and those others who are likely to leave.

Expired contracts
Five Celtic men were out of contract at the end of season 2018-2019. Dorus De Vries, Emilio Izaguirre and Cristian Gamboa all featured little last season and have left for pastures new. Dedryck Boyata will be missed significantly more after he signed a deal with Hertha Berlin last month.
Mikael Lustig is the final man set to leave the club. The 32-year-old has offers in his native Sweden and is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming days. Celtic seem keen to keep him around.

Loans ending
Celtic signed five players on loan last season. Daniel Arzani is the only loanee who will continue next season after he signed a two-year deal when he joined. The other four – Filip Benkovic, Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Jeremy Toljan – have all returned to their parent clubs.
None are likely to be re-signed although there have been murmurings about Filip Benkovic returning for another spell from Leicester City. That’s one to watch.

Who else could go?
Olivier Ntcham is widely expected to leave the club this summer. Porto and Marseille are two of the clubs said to be in for the 23-year-old who has had an inconsistent time of late.
Other players likely to leave this summer include Youssouf Mulumbu, Jack Hendry and Marvin Compper.
