Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been named as the Premiership Manager of the Month for February – completing a hat-trick of awards this season.

The club tweeted news of the award on Friday lunchtime.

The winner was never really in doubt due to the Hoops’ terrific record during the month.

We played five Premiership matches in total and won them all – scoring 18 goals and conceding just three.

The 4-0 success away to Motherwell at the start of the month was perhaps the highlight, although the 2-1 win over Aberdeen and the 5-0 thrashing of Hearts were also notable occasions.

The award is Lennon’s third of the season after he also came out on top in August and November.

Celtic can wrap the league up in coming weeks

The news will be a welcome boost to Lennon, but he’ll know it won’t matter a thing if we take our eye off the ball in the league.

We face a straight forward looking home clash against St. Mirren tomorrow but the Buddies have made it tricky for us so far this season, both in Glasgow and Paisley.

Three points there will take us a whopping 16 points clear at the summit and fire even more pressure on struggling Rangers ahead of their trip to Ross County on Sunday.

Lennon will know that we’re just six more wins away from winning another league title – and success at Ibrox in a week’s time will fast-track that process.

The turnaround in fortunes from the end of December to now is pretty stark.

There are still questions over this Celtic team on one off occasions – like against Rangers and Copenhagen.

But there are no questions over their will to win domestic matches. That desire to win consecutive games will prove to be the difference as we close in on yet another title.

Well done to Neil, and all the players. This award is for everyone.
