Former Celtic defender Marc Rieper knows all about nine in a row. He was part of the Hoops side which stopped Rangers winning their ninth title in a row in 1998.

Therefore, he knows what he is talking about when it comes to winning league titles. He thinks that the Hoops need to make some new additions to the squad to ensure that nine in a row is clinched.

Play a big part

He also feels that Hoops captain Scott Brown will play a big part in making sure that the Hoops win the title.

“It’s never easy when you are trying to rebuild a squad and add a lot of signings” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“Very important”

“What helps Celtic is that they have a core of quality players who have been there, who have experienced success. Brown is very important for the new manager because he is the dressing room leader.”

It is important for Celtic to add some quality new signings in the summer. The team has been overworked in the last two seasons, it is not fair for the same players to be relied on time after time.

Therefore, it is important that the Hoops bring in players that will add to the quality of the side. That is important no matter who the manager is.
