Famous faces from Joe Hart’s past career for club and country have rushed to Instagram to pay tribute to the Celtic goalkeeper after winning the Scottish League Cup yesterday.

Hart had a dramatic day at Hampden, conceding the first goal before witnessing a wonderful comeback from Kyogo Furuhashi and company. He then made a last ditch save right at the death to secure the trophy.

The goalie took to social media yesterday to share his delight with the achievement and received a mountain of replies, too many to list, from a variety of famous figures including Declan Rice, Dele Alli and Nigel de Jong.

Hart is a very popular man with many of his former teammates and, given the way he has conducted himself so far this season, it’s easy to see why.

He’s an absolute giant in that dressing room and sets standards for his teammates that we love to see.

Listen, Hart is going to have the odd hiccup and mistake, most goalkeepers do. But more often than not he can bail us out with a super save or simply have the presence to settle down our defence and forge a unit.

That is priceless over the course of a season.

One of Ange Postecoglou’s greatest decisions was bringing him to the club and allowing him to embed so prominently into the squad.

With one trophy won, there’s lots more to play for this season and I have no doubt Joe Hart will play a massive part.
