Peter Martin has hit out at Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard in a strangely worded article.

The PLZ Soccer man chose to take the Hoops striker to task for the level of his recent performances.

Edouard may have struck five goals in seven games so far this season, but Martin is clearly not a fan of what he’s seen, judging by what he wrote on the PLZ website.

The piece read more like a rant, as he chose to make strange comparisons to Moussa Dembele and claim that Neil Lennon is “not happy” with the man who scored 28 goals last term.

Martin wrote: “It’s time for Odsonne Edouard to shape up or ship out of Celtic.

“This is not the season for passengers and certainly not the time for Neil Lennon to suffer the same fate Brendan Rodgers had with Moussa Dembele.

“The Frenchman is starting to show signs that someone is messing with his head and altering his attitude.

“He misses the Motherwell game, heads off to play two U21 games for France and then returns jaded, tired, fatigued, not fit. Which is it?

“The manager was certainly not happy that ahead of the Livingston match he is seemingly informed that he’s not up to it, he’s not 100%.”

Talk about reading the room eh.

The Celtic support acted, as you may expect, with bemusement at Martin’s comments as they took to Twitter on Friday night.

Here’s the gist of what some Hoops fans had to say.

Over to you Odsonne

Well that’s one way to start the weekend. What a bizarrely written article.

Perhaps its intention was to cause a stir, and generate some free publicity for PLZ.

If that was the goal then I’ve fallen hook, line and sinker.

Hopefully our brilliant frontman comes across the article too.

He has a habit of replying on the pitch.
