Celtic starlet Grant Savoury is set to join Edinburgh City on loan, as reported by the Daily Record.
The Daily Record’s live transfer blog (31/01, 09:18) reports that the Scottish League Two side have ‘lined up a deal’ for Savoury before the transfer window closes.
The blog also reports that the player is eager to get some first-team football.
Yet to make first-team breakthrough
Savoury, who is 19, has yet to make the first-team breakthrough for the Hoops, and has played for the development squad.
The move for Savoury could be a good one, as Edinburgh City are currently in second place in League Two, and will be looking for goals to help them in their bid for promotion to League One.
More than a few players have left Hoops on loan
Celtic have sent more than a few players out on loan in January. The likes of Lee O’Connor, Conor Hazard and Jonathan Afolabi have all departed the Hoops this month, most likely with an eye for getting regular football.
Now it looks as if Savoury will be the latest Celtic player to leave the club on a temporary basis.
It will be interesting to see if more Celtic players exit the club on loan before the transfer window closes. It would not be a surprise to see a few more prospects depart the club as the window gets ready to slam shut.
