Former Celtic assistant manager Garry Parker could be set to return to the club, according to a report. The Daily Record reports that Neil Lennon is keen to reunite with Parker, who has worked with Lennon at all his managerial jobs.

Parker was not alongside Lennon made his return to club to take over from Brendan Rodgers. However, the report claims that Parker is ‘excited’ at the prospect of returning to Celtic Park.

Intriguingly, Parker was spotted with Lennon at West Brom a few weeks ago, before Lennon was offered the Celtic job on a permanent basis.

Since Lennon has been interim Celtic boss, he was worked with Damian Duff and John Kennedy. That duo were already part of the club when Lennon returned.

A return would be no surprise

Now that he is set to become permanent manager, it is no surprise that Lennon wants to bring in his own staff.

That means a return for Parker, who is one of Lennon’s most trusted confidants. Perhaps a return for Parker is one of Lennon’s demands before he agrees to become the new manager.

After all, he has yet to sign the deal which was offered to him by the club to become manager.

However, you would imagine it is only a matter of time before Lennon formally agrees to become Celtic boss. The return of Parker may well be part of the deal.
