Celtic have suffered an injury blow as the season reaches its climax. The Scottish Sun is reporting that attacker Vakoun Issouf Bayo is out for the rest of the season with a ruptured hamstring.

The report goes on to claim that the player will be out of action until the middle of June.

Celtic career hasn’t got going

The injury is a blow to a player whose time at Celtic hasn’t really got going yet. He has only made one appearance for the club since joining from Dunejska Streda in January.

His time at the club hasn’t been helped by the fact that the man who brought him to Celtic, Brendan Rodgers, is no longer at the club.

Chance to prove himself

However, he will have to chance to prove himself in the close season when he recovers from injury. The fact that he signed a four-year deal with the club means that people at Celtic must rate him.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to prove that yet. But, with the likes of Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah set to move on in the summer, there will be places in the squad for Bayo to fit in.

He may have to bide his time to get a regular first-team place. But his Celtic career really begins this pre-season. He will be eager to impress the new manager, whoever that may be.
