Recent Celtic arrival Marian Shved’s league debut for the Hoops could be delayed by a week.
The Scottish Sun has revealed that Shved is set to face a one-game ban after being red carded in his final league game for his former side Karpaty Lviv.
The ban from the Ukraine carries over to Scotland, according to the report.
Sad news for winger
Shved will be disappointed with the news, as will the Celtic manager at that time. The winger would have wanted to hit the ground running in the league, but it is not to be.
However, the good thing is that the player has already joined with his Hoops team-mates ahead of next season. That could mean that he features in the Champions League qualifiers which start before the league campaign.
Will need to impress new manager
The new manager could well factor into how often Shved features next season. He was signed by Brendan Rodgers who has left the club. He is training under Neil Lennon who might not be at the club next season.
However, if the new manager wants to be impressed he should look at Shved’s statistics with his old club. Last season he scored 15 goals for Karpaty.
That must impress the man who will be in charge of Shved. Hopefully the reported ban is just a blip and his Hoops career can start on the front-foot.
