Celtic captain Scott Brown left it late before giving his verdict on the Hoops’ 4-0 win over Motherwell on Wednesday night.
It took him almost 24 hours to post on Instagram his thoughts on Celtic’s emphatic win. As usual though, the Hoops skipper’s thoughts were worth examining.
“3 points and even a smile on my face” he posted on social media.
It is easy to see why Brown has a smile on his face. Celtic have come back from their winter break in Dubai in great form.
Hoops in a great run on form
In six games in all competitions, the Hoops have scored 19 goals, conceding only three, as the team have roared clear at the top of the Premiership, and are in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.
It is the Scottish Cup that the Hoops find themselves in on Sunday, as Neil Lennon’s side travel to League One Clyde.
It will be intriguing to see if the Hoops boss elects to start Brown in the game, or opts to give him a rest with some big league games on the horizon.
Brown has played a lot of games for Celtic this season, he has made 42 appearances for the team so far.
He was left out of the squad for the Betfred Cup game against Dunfermline in August, which saw the Hoops taken to extra time before eventually winning 2-1.
Likely to start upcoming fixture
That result might influence Lennon’s thinking with regard to his line-up for Clyde. He might pick a strong team at first to get the game won, then make some changes.
As a result, Brown will most likely start the game, and hopefully some early Hoops goals will give the manager the chance to eventually give fringe players a chance.
