Scott Brown shoots down Rangers title noise

Scott Brown has shot down some of the noise coming from Rangers by insisting he has “heard it all before”.

Our old foes at Ibrox have been shouting their mouth off again this summer, with midfielder Steven Davis recently saying they are “on the verge of something special”.

But Celtic skipper Brown will once again do his talking on the pitch, as he laughed the claims off as normal early season noise.

Brown told the Daily Record: “I’ve heard it all before. Every season. It’s part and parcel of Scottish football.

“Everyone wants to challenge us but we are champions for a reason.

“We have the staying power to keep improving season after season.”

Brown is right to shoot down Rangers noise

Celtic must be well used to the Ibrox side bumping their gums by now. Every single close season we hear about how they are going to close the gap and win title number 55 but the truth is that they’re still a good bit away.

We struggled in the league last season and still won the title by nine points. We also won both other domestic trophies while they faltered twice against fourth place Aberdeen.

Celtic will aim to do their talking on the pitch once again this year, just like they have in recent years. Three successive trebles and eight titles in a row speaks for itself. You don’t need empty words when you’ve got trophies to back you up.
