Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli deserves a second chance according to some supporters.

This is off the back of a highly impressive stat where the Belgian comes out on top in his area of the pitch.

Very little has been seen of Bolingoli since the New Year derby at the end of last year.

However, the Celts’ change of formation appears to fit Bolingoli over his teammates.

Time to bring Boli Bolingoli back into Celtic fold?

Kieran Tierney was sold shortly after and Greg Taylor was subsequently signed.

However, it appeared Bolingoli got the nod despite a topsy turvy start of the season.

Winger Jonny Hayes had also moonlighted on occasion, but Bolingoli appeared to be first choice.

Unfortunately, performances tailed off culminating in a disaster against Rangers in December.

Bolingoli appears to be persona non grata for a while, but a new stat suggests Lennon is too hard on him.

Celtic’s Twitter account posted that Bolingoli has made the fifth most key passes in the Hoops’ squad.

It also makes him the top contributor in terms of key passes for the Celtic defence.

This is persuading some fans to ask why Bolingoli isn’t playing in the new look Celtic 3-5-2 formation.
