Read MoreSome Celtic fans impressed with Callum McGregor during lockdown
Celtic’s Callum McGregor sent a video message to the Hoops support on the club’s Twitter account today. Now, the content of the message wasn’t that surprising.
He was urging fans to stay indoors and not go outside during this current global pandemic. However, what was perhaps most interesting about the video was that he seemed to be on a treadmill whilst recording the clip.

That shows that the player is committed to keeping fit in the middle of this football lockdown. You would not expect anything less from McGregor though.
Has happy knack of avoiding injury
It should be remembered that he has played a lot of football for the Hoops in the last few seasons. He seems to have the happy knack of avoiding injury, and that has allowed him to become an integral part of Celtic’s ongoing success.

The fact that McGregor still seemed to be training during his downtime impressed a selection of Celtic supporters on social media.
It led to one fan on Twitter calling his behaviour ‘captain behaviour’, whilst another supporter proclaimed that the midfielder is Celtic’s ‘future leader’.
It is a bit too early to make a call on that. After all, Scott Brown hasn’t retired yet, and is still an integral part of the Hoops side.
Will be contender to be next captain
However, when Brown does decide to hang up his boots, McGregor will be one of the men on the shortlist to become Celtic’s next captain.
