Celtic and Pitbull – together at last, and it’s all down to Josip Juranovic.

The Celtic supporters always have an ear for an interesting song, and the creativity for an imaginative chant. Just think of the song for Jota, the version of Sway, the Scooter banger for Abada, Kyogo and Ange.

Well, quite rightly, Josip Juranovic has got his own new song. It’s to the tune of ‘Fireball’ by Pitbull, which should already give you an indication of the energy. You might’ve heard it get an airing at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, but it’s certain to be a fixture in the terraces going forward.

And here are the lyrics you have to know:

“Josip Juranovic,
Josip Juranovic

So, it should be easy enough to latch onto for every single Celtic supporter!

Sometimes, it really is all about getting straight to the point. Josip Juranovic has the cheeky energy of someone who’d force you up to the dance floor if this song came on. So, it feels perfect, and not every Celtic song requires intricate lyrics, references to prior glories or even a clever rhyme.

This one gets straight to the point. And why not? Josip Juranovic absolutely deserves it.

Yesterday, Scott McDonald spoke to 67 Hail Hail and lauded Juranovic’s “world-class” performance against Rangers. The Croatian international made a startling 14 ball recoveries [FotMob], and reports suggest he is only now removing Ryan Kent from his back pocket.

Fine, the last part might not be literally true.

Infectiously enthusiastic Josip Juranovic deserves a catchy Celtic song all to his own

If you ask me, you can break down Celtic signings made by Ange Postecoglou into a few different categories. You’ve got the very obvious leader types, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Joe Hart and James McCarthy.

Then, you’ve got the utter gem signings, who were bought for way under their true value but have made a huge impact. Kyogo, Hatate, O’Riley, Abada, for example.

Then, there’s the guys who are something of both, plus that gallus and cheekiness you need in a dressing room. Josip Juranovic is exactly that. He’s dogged, composed, determined and technically outstanding, but he’s also got a fire in him, that calls to mind Mikael Lustig or even Scott Brown.

So, it feels appropriate that he’d get a Pitbull tune for a Celtic song. It just makes sense somehow. The stars have aligned, and Mr Worldwide has provided.

Albeit, ‘Fireball’ was released in 2014.

You have to credit the Celtic supporters, this season especially. It’s not like last year gave us anything to shout about. This season, though, there have been almost too many new Celtic songs to keep track of, so many lyrics to know and the requisite enthusiasm to belt them out.

This one, then, is more simple fare. All the more reason to hear it loud and proud at every Celtic game Juranovic plays, then!
