Celtic go into Sunday’s game against Hibernian knowing that a victory could clinch their eighth title in a row. However, for that to happen Rangers must drop points against Hearts on Saturday.

Should that happen, the Hoops have the chance to win the title on away soil. Most fans would prefer a victory at home, but there have been some memorable championship triumphs clinched away from home. Here, we look at three of the most memorable.

The first title of the Brendan Rodgers era and the sixth title in a row were clinched in emphatic style. Scott Sinclair was the star of the show with a hat-trick. The other goals were both classics from Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong. The Hoops went on to end the league season unbeaten and win the domestic treble in an incredible triumph for Rodgers.

The title was clinched on an emotional Thursday night in Tanandice, just weeks after the death of Celtic legend Tommy Burns. Celtic went into the game two points ahead of Rangers in the table, and as the Ibrox side slipped to defeat against Aberdeen, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink’s header was enough to win the title for Gordon Strachan’s side, who won their third title in a row.

Celtic won their third title in a row as Neil Lennon’s side ran riot at Firhill. The Hoops opened the scoring through Anthony Stokes in the first-half, before a goal blitz in the second. Stokes once more, Liam Henderson, Stefan Johansen and Kris Commons all found the back of the net. Interestingly, the win clinched Neil Lennon’s last title as Celtic boss, as he left the club in the summer. This Sunday, he could have the chance on away soil once more.
