Celtic fans can look forward to a bumper nine hours of Scottish League Cup final television coverage this Sunday, courtesy of BT Sport.
If you’re not lucky enough to have a ticket for the big game then it appears Chris Sutton, Darrell Currie and company have you covered in a big way.
They kick-off their programme for the final at 9am, with six hours of build-up to the match, staying on the air until 6pm in the evening.
It comes as Scottish football prepares for a new era on the broadcast front next season, with Sky Sports set to become the exclusive broadcaster of the Scottish Premiership for five seasons, a deal said by The Scottish Sun to be worth £160m to the league.
Premier Sports will be broadcasting the Scottish League Cup, leaving BT with only European competitions when it comes to Scottish clubs.
It will be the broadcaster’s last big opportunity to showcase a marquee Scottish game and, as a result, they’re pulling out all the stops.
Grant Philips of Sunset and Vine, the programme’s production company, told The Scottish Sun: “We are throwing everything at it.
“It’s our last one, a huge game for BT Sport and our Sunset and Vine team in Glasgow.
“We love covering Scottish football and that’s reflected in everything we do up here.”
Whether it’s a good idea to keep Sutton and Stephen Craigan together for such a lengthy period of time is another matter, but I’m sure it’ll be an entertaining watch nonetheless.
Hopefully, it proves to be another fantastic day for Celtic and all the club’s supporters.
