Unlikely former Celtic duo set to face RB Leipzig just days before Hoops clash

While Celtic host Motherwell tomorrow, our upcoming European opponents RB Leipzig will be in Bundesliga action.

The inconsistent Germans are playing at home to the league’s weakest side Bochum tomorrow – and there are a few interesting faces who are set to come up against them.

While Ange Postecoglou takes his team to Saxony next midweek, tomorrow could see Bochum pair Cristian Gamboa and Saidy Janko featuring at the Red Bull Arena.

Gamboa is their regular right-back while Janko, on loan from Real Valladolid, has played a bit part as a left-back.

It seems pretty unlikely that two players who failed to make the grade in Glasgow would be featuring in the Bundesliga, but then again, Bochum are bottom with just a point from seven matches.

Whatever the case, the match seems like a pretty likely home win, with Leipzig potentially even resting players en route to the three points.

Marco Rose’s team have been inconsistent this season and currently sit 12th in the Bundesliga, with eight points.

They’ve lost four of their last five games, with all of those defeats by at least two goals. Celtic have a chance to pile on the agony on Wednesday.

Before then, we just have to take care of our own business against Motherwell, stay top of the league and turn our focus back to the Champions League.

In other news, the matchday programme for tomorrow’s match is a ‘special tribute’ to Jock Stein
