When Liel Abada will take part in his first Celtic training session
Celtic have stated when new signing Liel Abada is expected to take part in his first training session at Parkhead.
Abada officially signed for the club this evening on a four-year deal. The announcement was made in the build-up to tonight’s pre-season game against Bristol City.
Abada arrives from Israeli outfit Maccabi Petah Tikva, and jets into Scotland with a promising reputation.
In the announcement, Celtic also confirmed that he’ll begin training with his new teammates as soon as Friday. This is when the Celtic players will return to Lennoxtown after their final match down south. Abada will be there to meet them for the first time.
Celtic fans will be hoping to therefore catch a glimpse of the winger this Saturday in our fourth pre-season friendly against Preston North End.
Celtic snap up Liel Abada in what’s looking like a shrewd move
Securing Abada on a four-year deal looks like a shrewd piece of business from the Hoops. It also hasn’t been spoken about enough that the Israeli is still only 19 years of age too.
He hardly looks like one primarily for the future, however. With a massive lack of competition in the squad for James Forrest’s position, Abada fits that bill perfectly.
And it’s promising to see that there will be no delays in getting him involved. Hopefully, it won’t be long until he’s match-sharp and can feature in our first match of the Premiership season against Hearts on July 31st.
In the grand scheme for the Celtic supporters, it’s another body in the door. It’s a key position covered and we can now move on to the next one.
Hopefully, Abada settles in well and makes a flying start to his Celtic career. This club needs some fresh faces and talent. The little Israeli represents just that.
