It seems only a matter of time before Celtic complete the signing of David Turnbull from Motherwell.
The Evening Times is reporting that the player has cut short a holiday to complete his medical for the Hoops.
Motherwell and Celtic have agreed a fee of around £3 million for the player, who will become Celtic’s first signing of the summer.
Very astute signing
The midfielder could be prove to be a very astute signing for the Hoops, even though £3 million is quite a lot of money.
Turnbull is obviously a player that Neil Lennon wants to sign. Also, the Celtic board seem to have learned their lesson from the John McGinn saga of last season.
Easy to see why he was a wanted man
The midfielder scored 16 goals from the middle of the park for the Steelman last season. With those statistics it is easy to see why Lennon was so eager to bring him to Celtic Park.
It will be interesting to see if the imminent arrival of Turnbull leads to a departure from the Celtic midfield. The Hoops do seem to have an overwhelming number of players in the middle of the park to choose from.
Only time will tell if Turnbull is able to hold down a place in the Hoops first-team. But he looks to be a very exciting player and it is a good start to the transfer window for the Hoops.
