Celtic won’t want to take any chances when it comes to the team selection for the game against Hearts on Sunday. Any injured players will surely be rested with next week’s Scottish Cup Final in mind.
One of the players who could miss out on Sunday is Odsonne Edouard. The Daily Record recently reported that the player suffered an injury during the recent game against Rangers.
Therefore, the Hoops could be left without a proper striker for the last league game of the season. That could mean that Oliver Burke will get another chance to stake his claim for a place in the final.
It has to be said that it is unlikely Burke would get game time if Edouard was fit. He didn’t have the best game in the recent 2-0 loss to Rangers.
Failed with big chance
However, lack of options could give Burke another chance. Does the player deserve another start? Possibly not. He failed with his big chance at Ibrox, missing a sitter which could have brought the Hoops back into the game.
However, from this situation, Burke could perhaps emerge as an unlikely hero. Should he put Hearts to the sword on Sunday, he could find himself in the side for the cup final.
Perhaps he can end his Hoops career in style by helping the side to the domestic treble. It would be a nice way for the player to complete his time with the club, and he can leave a hero.
