It seems highly likely that he will keep his place in the side for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen on Sunday.
That game could well be the biggest test of his good run of form yet. The full-back has struggled in the past against the Dons. Indeed, he was sent-off in Celtic’s 2-0 win at Pittodrie last season.
Needs to keep player quiet
Lustig could be up against Niall McGinn on Sunday. McGinn is in a good run of form for Aberdeen. Lustig will have to be at his best to keep him quiet on the day.
When if comes down to Lustig versus Jeremy Toljan for a starting place in the Celtic line-up, Lennon will go for Lustig every time.
Lennon trusts the player
He knows and trusts Lustig from his first spell in charge of the Hoops. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Toljan.
However, it is a bit of a concern that Lustig’s form tailed off so badly this season that he was replaced in the first place by Toljan.
If he has another poor game against Aberdeen, it could cost Celtic. However, Lennon will back a player he believes in to get the job done.
