Celtic loanee Oliver Burke missed the Hoops’ most recent game with an injury. Unfortunately for the player, it was also one of the best performances under Neil Lennon.

The 3-0 win over Aberdeen was all about the attacking intent shown by the Hoops on the day. The likes of James Forrest, Odsonne Edouard and even Jonny Hayes had a field day. Aberdeen just couldn’t cope with it.

It stands to reason that Lennon will pick the majority of side which defeated Aberdeen against Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.

No place in starting line-up

That means no place in the starting line-up for Burke. It will be interesting to see how often Burke features for Celtic in the weeks to come.

The chances of him returning to the club from West Brom next season look to be remote. Perhaps Neil Lennon will keep the player on the margins from now on, as looks to have happened with Filip Benkovic.

Didn’t play in Glasgow derby

It should be remembered that Burke didn’t play in the recent 2-1 win over Rangers, he was kept on the bench.

However, in the push to clinch the treble, there is a chance that Burke could still have a role to play in the weeks ahead.

It might not be as big a role as he had earlier in his loan spell. But he is still capable of making a contribution.
