Indy Eleven Martin Rennie believes that Celtic loanee Andrew Gutman can go on to be a success in the Hoops.

Gutman is currently on loan at Charlotte Independence in the US Championship, and Rennie, whose team are also in that league, is a fan of the left-back.

“He’s a very talented player and I rate him really highly” he revealed to the Scottish Sun.

“I actually recommended him to a couple of people and I think he will do well at Celtic. He’s great at creating chances, and he might even get some goals.”

Gutman has performed well for his American team since joining up with them earlier this year.

Very good return so far

He has played six games and his two goals and an assist in that time, which is a very good return.

Interestingly enough, the Hoops do have the option to recall Gutman to Glasgow in the summer. It will be intriguing to see if the next Celtic manager decides to cut short the loan and bring the player back to Glasgow.

Gutman was signed by Brendan Rodgers, who of course is no longer at the club. Therefore, the new manager may want to bring the player over to Glasgow to get a look at him.

The standard of football in the American second tier is unlikely to be as good as in Scotland. But the fact that Gutman has started so well for his loan club bodes well for his Celtic future.
