Celtic star Kristoffer Ajer’s agent recently made some comments about the player’s future at the club, which will have caught the attention of the Hoops support.

The player’s agent, Tore Pedersen, claimed that the player will leave the club in the summer.

“He will not extend his contract with Celtic and will leave this summer. There are several clubs who are interested, but I can’t go into their names. There are many who have followed him for a long period” he said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

These seem to be scaremongering quotes from the agent, perhaps designed to get the player an improved contract. However, they should be ignored by Celtic.

No point addressing comments

There is no point in the club addressing the comments, as it will only bring more attention to them, at a time when everyone at Celtic should be pulling together.

The Hoops  are on the verge of nine in a row, and don’t need any distractions from that task in hand.

Ajer’s agent’s reported comments could come as a distraction, at an unwelcome time. That is why it is best for the club to just get on with things and ignore the claims that the player will be leaving.

Player himself probably won’t be happy with comments

Ajer himself can’t be happy about the comments made by his agent. He will want to concentrate on his future at Celtic. Of course, this season is in flux due to the global health pandemic, but that won’t stop the speculation about Ajer’s future.

Ajer will hope that by the time the Hoops return to action, all the chat about his future will be on the back burner, as it will be time to focus on winning the title, and clinching the all-important nine in a row.

Only time will tell if the player will still be at Celtic next season, but his agent’s remarks should be ignored.
