Neil Lennon could pull off a tactical master stroke that would unnerve Aberdeen when they see the starting line-up they will face at Hampden Park.

That master stroke – bringing Scott Sinclair back into the side.

It’s no secret that Sinclair has been out of favour in recent weeks. There is no real reason that should be the case, as his performances have been no worse than those of his team-mates.

Not keen on the player

However, Lennon doesn’t seem to be keen on the player, almost the polar opposite of former manager Brendan Rodgers.

But, Sinclair has had a habit of turning up in big games in his three seasons at Celtic. Also, and perhaps more importantly, his record against Aberdeen this season is superb.

He scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win at Celtic Park in September. Even better was his performance in the 4-3 win at Pittodrie in December, where he scored a hat-trick.

Aberdeen would not relish taking on a player who has already dominated them this season. Indeed, it would most likely play on their minds and affect their game.

It is more likely that Sinclair will be on the bench. Neil Lennon will probably start Jonny Hayes and James Forrest on the wings.

Even from off the bench though, Sinclair has the ability to do damage. Only time will tell, but a Sinclair start could be a good boost to the Hoops.
